Subject: OPPOSE Bill 119 - PLEASE
Please oppose this Bill 119 -when Rainbow Rangers tried to buy this same property, it was REJECTED
and thus Rainbow Rangers given less than half the budget and no facilities struggled to get up and
running, thus allowing it to be overwhelmed and the contract taken away from them, leaving now animal
attack deaths, no spay and neuter program happening and lots of money just GONE while animal services
is reduced to slim and nil, but for private organizations tapped to the HILT and maxed out trying to do the
job of months of slim to non-existant animal control happening by the County who now wants to buy the
facility they previously rejected allowing the Rainbow Rangers to purchase when they had the contract, and
now for almost two million dollars?! ---- This is pure egregious insanity!! Do not pass this bill or buy that
property with taxpayer money!!
The roads are impossible to navigate AND just like the county said when they rejected the facility for
Rainbow Rangers to purchase, it's TOO FAR off the beaten path for people to find. Do not buy this facility
after literally rejecting the last contractors from buying it for myriad cited county reasonings then and should
be now, too!!!
By the way, since Rainbow Rangers contract only received half the budget of the present people and no
time or support for them to get up and running before being popped out for whoever is NOT RUNNING it
now because there seems to be NO SERVICES happening anywhere with a lot of buck passing when
citizens call for help and even maulings and deaths!
So, before daring to spend 2 million dollars of the taxpayers money on whoever is now in charge of the
contract to buy a building that was already rejected, please answer the following further questions:
WHERE is the location of the current East Side shelter?
WHY isn't it opened to the public--even by appointment?
WHY can't residents look for their animals there?
WHAT is the location of the current East Side Shelter being rented?
WHAT is the disposition of the animals impounded there?
WHO is running this shelter?
WHERE will the new shelter be? (that isn't 2 million dollars and already been rejected by the County when
Rainbow Rangers wanted to buy it to fulfill their animal control contract)
WHEN will full services begin? It's been month! Where's the services, where's the money, where's the
spay/neuter program?!
Thank you for asking the above questions of the people, whoever they are that tell people needing animal
services to just call one of the private rescue -that's some hinky crap that needs to stop.
