Re:Testimony for Comm 591
Dear City Council Members,
Most people are experiencing covid fatigue. When will this be enough? We want it to be over. The
natives are getting restless and we want to feel as though our lives are back to normal. I'm not going to
bore you with statistics on how the masks don't work, or how the most recent Johns Hopkins study shows
lockdowns only reduced Covid-19 deaths by .2%, or even how vaccine and booster efficacy is
questionable. You've seen the studies and you know exactly what you are doing. Give it up and give the
power back to the people who put you where you are.
We don't need the government to forever declare that there is a perpetual state of emergency so that you
can control our lives with passports or proof of vaccines, masks, mandates and coercion for medical
procedures. It's getting really really old and the people are onto you. We know what you are doing and
no one likes it very much. We'd much rather be in control of our lives, our children, our bodies.
This can't go on forever. There needs to be an off-ramp and it needs to happen soon. You must continue
to work for the constituents that put you where you are today. Power remains with the people and we
demand change. We want normalcy back in our day to day lives.
Sincerely,
Sharlyn Maciel
Comm. Nae
