Please ask HELCO:
1 - Are there any pending State bills, or any initiatives, studies, or plans for geothermal development on Hawaii
Island other than Puna Geothermal Venture?
2 - What knowledge does HELCO have of any reply to a December 8, 2021 letter from Mayor Mitch Roth to the State
Office of Planning and Sustainable Development, re. the SEIS for Puna Geothermal Venture? The letter said:
"You have correctly stated that the County of Hawaii is willing to be the accepting authority. We request clarification
from your office regarding your determination that the County of Hawaii is the correct agency to act as the accepting
authority. Would you please provide us with an amended letter setting forth your office's full reasoning for your
determination?"
3 - With advances in the capacity and reliability of battery storage, how is the need for traditional firm power being
affected?
4 - What is the cost of Honua Ola's power compared to solar and wind projects now being proposed?
