My name is Mason Farish, President of Farish Media in Kailua Kona, Hawai'i. My wife, Regina, 3
and I have operated a small business in Kailua Kona for over 25 years. We know the
commitment and planning necessary to contribute positively to a community over the long term.
We see this commitment, dedication and planning exhibited in Kumu Hou at Waikoloa and
strongly support these efforts.

We have worked with Waikoloa Beach Resort for nearly 30 years. We have seen Waikoloa
Land Company embrace a respectful stewardship of the Waikoloa area, investing in and
supporting the community and surrounding businesses. They give back through protection and
perpetuation of the community's culture, history, environmental uniqueness, and positive
economic contribution. a
Kumu Hou is good for Hawai'i Island. When completed, it will be one of the largest employers
on the Kohala Coast, generating much-needed jobs and housing for local residents. The
project will"produce additional foot-traffic for the area's surrounding businesses, bringing new
life to Waikoloa at a time that we need it most. It will support small, local businesses that have
faced brutal economic challenges over the past year plus and ensure more of our island ohana
are able to keep their jobs and care for and feed their families. Kumu Hou will create a new
base of consumers who can help ensure businesses — especially those affected by the decline
in tourism due to DOVID — have a chance to survive and thrive.
Supporting Kumu Hou is an investment in Waikoloa and the future of our Hawai'i Island
community.
