Subject: Kumu Hou - Waikoloa
Aloha- I'm writing in support of the Kumu Hou project, subject to the following:
#1–There needs to be a shuttle between the Airport and Waikoloa hotels and the new development. This service should be
available to workers as well as visitors.
#2–A few car rental locations should be set up in Waikoloa for visitors that don't need a vehicle for their entire trip.
#3–There needs to be lit and secure Park& Ride facilities between the Airport area and Waikoloa resorts for workers. Note,
there are dozens of parked cars on weekdays, presumably commuters, along Hwy 19,who park near Kaiminani Drive,the Kua
Bay entrance or across from the Kukio resort.
#4–Encourage Public Transportation or resort transportation for visitors! There are just too many cars on our roads and
parking lots during peak visitor season.
#5–Approve hotel development at the Airport. There are too many folks rushing to the airport early morning and flight crews
and/or visitors need a simple solution when flights are delayed or cancelled.
#6–Require Waikoloa resorts to increase Beach Access parking or to provide safe walking paths to Beaches.
#7–Approve and complete the Hwy 19 to Saddle Road bypass route.
