Kumu Hou will indeed provide much needed affordable housing to the workforce
within the immediate Waikoloa area. The cost of housing being rental or
purchasing is far out of reach for the local community and employees that in turn
would assist with providing County and State tax revenues. It is virtually
impossible for most to take the giant step to ownership and well-being for
families living in Hawaii. Every effort must be made to provide opportunity and
support to so many in need. Kumu Hou is a step closer to providing that
opportunity.
The hope being with Kumu Hou much of my generation will not have to absorb
the high costs of maintaining and providing gas for a vehicle just for the purpose
of commuting to and from work. This will also provide the opportunity to live as a
family in our household close to the multiple amenities Waikoloa Beach Resort
has to offer. As we all know, affordability is a difficult task to accomplish in
Hawaii. Supporting Kumu Hou is indeed a benefit for all.
In addition to affordable housing opportunities, Kumu Hou will provide job
stability during the construction phases and long after various phases are
completed due to the workforce required to support such a facility. This will have
a positive impact with moral for myself and fellow employees knowing what the
future has to bring.
