Council Members,
Aloha, I strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa!
My name is Todd Mardon and I serve as the principal and managing member of Big
Island Mechanical and Construction, LLC. Since our founding in 1992, 1 have
witnessed firsthand the development of Waikoloa Resort as a world class
development. I feel the Waikoloa Resort is one of the few resorts that have
continually welcomed the kama'aina. Their vision has provided affordable
accommodations, affordable eateries and affordable entertainment for all locals.
In addition, as we all struggle with the balance between the number of tourists and
the revenue they generate I feel the vision of Kumu Hou is spot on. This
development has a positive impact on revenue dollars while reducing the number of
tourists.

Hawaii nei is the most special place on earth and we all need to be vested in
preserving its culture and natural resources.With the developer's commitment to the
Waikoloa Foundation,the local community will be assured continued support for our
culture and environment.
In closing, I am hopeful the County Council will act favorably in granting the approval
of Kumu Hou for it is a positive investment in the future of Hawaii Island.
