HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0595.074 2020-2022 PJ ill In 1 Aloha Members of the Hawaii County Council: My name is Doug Aton, and 1 am here to testify in support of Kumu Hou as a property owner of a condominium in Waikoloa Village for nearly 30 years. It has not been easy providing a rental condominium for the community of Waikoloa, and I am planning to retire my prospect of renting out my unit in the next coming month because the cost of maintenance and management of my unit has become more and more challenging in recent years. i It is so important that the problem of affordable housing in Hawaii get addressed in collaboration with developers, the community, and decision makers like the members of this esteemed council. I like the idea of the developer going above and beyond the requirements for affordable housing by providing the land and the access with utilities at their cost. Also, the solution of providing a non-profit Foundation endowment to be funded by a portion of the sales of the timeshares to address community and natural resource concerns...this is something more and more developers need to be doing. CD Czi Thank you so much for your time, Doug Aton CO 2z- 10 _ I ;i m ?
