Aloha,
I strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and Waikoloa's
workforce.
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable workforce rental
housing units for kama'aina. Statewide, the lack of affordable housing for local families is a
pressing concern, and here on the Kohala Coast, that challenge persists. The Waikoloa
Land Company has already fulfilled its affordable housing requirements, but, seeing the
impacts of this issue firsthand, they've chosen to proactively assist in creating
solutions for this problem and provide a substantial boost to Hawaii Island's affordable
housing inventory.
I also appreciate the Waikoloa Land Company's commitment to stewarding and
preserving the area for generations to come. Waikoloa Land Company has always
protected the natural environment- including the native plants and animals that make
their home in Waikoloa- as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.
Looking forward, a portion of each timeshare sale from Kumu Hou will be set aside to
fund a $45 million endowment for The Waikoloa Foundation. This endowment through
Kumu Hou is a lasting promise to the community. It will ensure The Waikoloa
Foundation's efforts toward education, environmental stewardship and culture can
continue in perpetuity, allowing The Foundation to expand its impact for the people of
Hawaii Island long beyond the work of the Waikoloa Land Company.
Simply put, supporting Kumu Hou is an investment in Waikoloa and the future of our
Hawaii Island community.

Kumu Hou is committed to using union labor throughout the project's development,
supporting hundreds of local laborers and our families and showcasing a deep
commitment to Hawaii Island. Upon completion, Kumu Hou will be one of the
largest employers on the Kohala Coast and will generate much-needed jobs and
housing for local residents.
The project will create economic momentum and an investment ' our communities
when we need it most. Kumu Hou will generate additional foot-traffic for the area's
surrounding businesses, providing a steady stream of consumers who can ensure
businesses—especially those impacted by the decline of tourism due to the pandemic
—have a chance to survive and thrive.
Kumu Hou is a smart, thoughtful development plan that will attract substantial new
investment for the State and County of Hawaii, creating hundreds of jobs and
millions of dollars in tax revenue. Through Kumu Hou, the Waikoloa Landy
Company is taking every opportunity to support Hawaii Island residents and create a
bright future for the Kohala Coast.
Supporting Kumu Hou is an investment in Waikoloa and the future of our Hawaii
Island community.

preserving the area for generations to come. Waikoloa Land Company has always
protected the natural environment— including the native plants and animals that make
their home in Waikoloa—as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.
Looking forward, a portion of each timeshare sale from Kumu Hou will be set aside to
fund a$45 million endowment for The Waikoloa Foundation.

Aloha,
1 strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has a
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and aikolo 's
workforce:
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable work-force work-forcerental
housing units for aa'aina. Statewide, the lack of affordable housing for local families is a
pressing concern, and here on the Kohala Coast, that challenge persists. The Waikoloa
Land Company has already fulfilled its affordable housing requirements, but, seeing the
impacts of this issue firsthand, they've chosen to proactively assist in creating
solutions for this problem and.provide a substantial boost to Hawaii Island's affordable
housing inventory.

their home in Waikoloa- as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.

Aloha,
I strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has a
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and aioloa's
workforce.
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable workforce rental
housing units for kama`aina.
Waikoloa Land Company has always

solutions for this problem and provide a substantial boost to Hawaii Island's affordable
housing inventory.

Aloha,
I strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and aikoloa's
workforce.
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable workforce rental
housing units for kaa'aina. Statewide, the lack of affordable housing for local families is a
pressing concern, and here on the Kohala Coast, that challenge persists. The Waikoloa
Land Company has already fulfilled its affordable housing requirements, but, seeing the

Aloha,
1 strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has a
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and aikoloa's
workforce.
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable workforce rental
housing units for kama'aina.
1 also appreciate the Waikoloa Land Company's commitment to stewarding and
preserving the area for generations to come. Waikoloa Land Company has always
protected the natural environment- including the native plants and animals that make
their home in Waikoloa- as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.

Aloha,
I strongly support plans for Kumu Hou at Waikoloa. Waikoloa Land Company has a
proven history of being a thoughtful steward of the Kohala Coast and is deeply
invested in our community's future. Most importantly, Kumu Hou is good for Hawaii
Island and will ensure meaningful opportunities for our local community and aikoloa's
workforce.
There are many reasons to support Kumu Hou, but one of the most meaningful is that
the project will ensure the creation of no less than 140 affordable workforce rental
housing units for kama'aina.
1 also appreciate the Waikoloa Land Company's commitment to stewarding and
preserving the area for generations to come. Waikoloa Land Company has always
protected the natural environment- including the native plants and animals that make
their home in Waikoloa-as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.
Looking forward, a portion of each timeshare sale from Kumu Hou will be set aside to
fund a$45 million endowment for The Waikoloa Foundation.
Simply put, supporting Kumu Hou is an investment in Waikoloa and the future of our
Hawaii Island community.

housing units for kaa`aina.
1 also appreciate the Waikoloa Land Company's commitment to stewarding and
preserving the area for generations to come. Waikoloa Land Company has always
protected the natural environment- including the native plants and animals that make
their home in Waikoloa- as well as the area's many cultural and historical attributes.
Simply put, supporting Kumu Hou is an investment in Waikoloa and the future of our
Hawai'i Island community.
