Dear Council Persons,
I write in opposition to the rezoning of the golf course for the Kumu Hou project.
This will promote more tourism and out of state owners. The roads are already choked with cars and the island has no
reliable transit system to relieve the pressure. Out of state ownership (ie time-shares)promotes money leaving the
island.
We need affordable housing for the local community. These folks keep our island working.
Additionally I am concerned about increased water usage; and waste water treatment is not sufficient to handle
another influx of visitors.
We need to preserve open lands for the health of animal and bird populations especially in the upland areas that have
been deforested.
Please consider the needs of our community over profits.
