Dear councilmembers,
I am writing in strong support of Bill 120. Hawaii--and the entire U.S. --must quickly transition away from fossil fuels if we are to
mitigate the potentially disastrous effects of climate change on our island. As an electric vehicle owner newly arrived in Hilo, I've
been genuinely shocked by the sparseness of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure on the Big Island. This will be a
significant impediment to EV adoption, and an insurmountable obstacle for many who cannot presently charge at home, such as
many apartment and condo dwellers.
Bill 120 represents a small but significant step toward remedying this problem. I strongly urge its swift passage.
