I am writing to support the nomination of Matthew Terlep to the county Transportation Commission. Mr.
Terlep has a long history of volunteerism in our community and during his 20 years building a successful
business in Nevada before returning home to the gig Island. Having grown up in Napoopoo and Mountain
View, and now residing in Pepeekeo, and having run transportation-related businesses throughout his
career, both statewide and on the mainland, he is knowledgeable about the challenges of managing
transportation systems in rural areas. Mr. Terlep is loved and appreciated by his neighbors for his help
with farming, roadwork, and business advice and assistance, always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor in
need. We would be well-served to have him on this commission.
