RESOLUTION NO. 367 22
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR "SURF WITH ALOHA" SIGNS AT COUNTY
BEACH PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN WEST HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division,
maintains neighborhood parks, beach parks,playgrounds, ballfields, and other recreational
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division, has
identified the need for"Surf With Aloha" signs to post at County beach parks and recreational
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the posting of"Surf With Aloha" signs will provide an immediate visible
reminder to surfers as they enter the waters to be mindful of fellow surfers and swimmers in their
path and vicinity, for the purpose of keeping all who enjoy the ocean safer; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
signage at the County beach parks and recreational facilities in West Hawaii; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for "Surf With Aloha" signs at County beach parks and recreational
facilities in West Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
