Many people seem to own dogs "for protection," yet seemingly do not realize the danger this poses to others. I have disallowed my children to walk in the neighborhood of their school because of loose and threatening dogs. My husband and a friend have both been bitten by dogs while riding bicycles, one on Old Mamalahoa highway in Ahualoa and one on Honokaa-Waipio road. Neither dog owner showed any remorse nor changed their behavior regarding their animals. Fortunately both recovered; however, an aggressive dog can pose severe danger to a cyclist, as they can easily cause a crash. I It is simply not acceptable for the knowing owners of vicious dogs to suffer zero consequences when their animals harm someone. Mahalo, Chezlani Casar Honokaa s 00 .s 1 RJLDa E Q
