Aloha kakou Honorable Councilmembers,
Please support this effort to hold owners of vicious dogs accountable in our county. Many people seem to own dogs
"for protection," yet seemingly do not realize the danger this poses to others. I have disallowed my children to walk in
the neighborhood of their school because of loose and threatening dogs. My husband and a friend have both been
bitten by dogs while riding bicycles, one on Old Mamalahoa highway in Ahualoa and one on Honokaa-Waipio road.
Neither dog owner showed any remorse nor changed their behavior regarding their animals. Fortunately both
recovered; however, an aggressive dog can pose severe danger to a cyclist, as they can easily cause a crash.

It is simply not acceptable for the knowing owners of vicious dogs to suffer zero consequences when their animals
harm someone.
