Mahalo for your time. Mahalo to Ashley Kierkiewicz for rewriting to clarify the law for vicious dog attacks.
I grew up as a young child hearing our family friend's story about how his son was attacked while on his
bike in a neighborhood. As I recall he didn't bike in his neighborhood after that. He was injured yet
luckily recovered. I hear terrible stories about dogs mulling innocent people and how our mailman shared
how unsafe it is to deliver mail to certain addresses making their jobs dangerous. In my middle aged life I
am sad to hear dogs of this vicious nature are still allowed to return to their owners.
I do feel when it is a public safety issue there must be some intervention. You wouldn't allow a human to
viciously attack others and let them be free to live their normal lives so why would an animal be allowed to
taunt the neighborhood after attacking and severely injuring someone on a public street.
