Sako via Communication No. 703 <br /> dated March 17, 2022, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one <br /> fiscal year for a multi-year lease of real property for the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and <br /> Recreation identified as Tax Map Key 9-5-014-060, in Ka`u, Hawaii. <br /> This resolution authorizes the Mayor to enter into a ten-year agreement with Hamakua Land and <br /> Cattle, LLC, with an approximate annual cost of$61,948. The property would be used for parking, <br /> camping, picnicking, and community events at Whittington Beach Park. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Maurice C. Messina and Richard Alderson from Hamakua Land and <br /> Cattle both provided the background and leasing history on the measure. <br /> I <br /> ll) <br /> Mr. Messina elaborated on the agreement, stating that the County had used the property rent-free for 1 <br /> years. Mr. Messina stated that the County also has the first right of refusal should Mr. Alderson ever <br /> wish to sell the property. <br /> Committee Members Herbert M.
