Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 151, reports as follows:
Bill No. 151, transmitted by Director of Finance Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 706 dated
March 17, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 21-39, as amended, relating to public improvements and
financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
This bill adds the Parks and Recreation Council Discretionary Projects-District 6 project($100,000) to
the Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from the General Obligation Bonds, Capital
Projects Fund—Fund Balance and/or Other Sources and would be used towards improvements, repairs,
and modifications at County park facilities throughout Council District 6.
Committee Member Maile Medeiros David provided background on the measure.
Committee Member Susan L. K. Lee Loy asked Ms. Sako how the redrawing of district lines would
impact this measure. Ms. Sako stated that the funding will follow the new shape of District 6.
Per Committee Member Herbert M. "Tim"Richards III's request, Ms. David confirmed that the new
district lines will cover all areas of concern for improvement.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bili No. 151, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
