i 3 il�SVfUP t4 COUNTY M 7TE Oi•Nl+J+ 3 I RESOLUTION NO. 379 22 3 I j33I 3 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME 3 3 HAWAII FOR ITS REENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist justice-involved Hawaii Island men, women, and youth with reintegration into community life through employment, education, training, and appropriate services; and 5 WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's Reentry and Recovery Housing Program is an ongoing program to assist justice involved women, men and youth with reintegration into community life through employment, education, housing, and appropriate services; and WHEREAS, without help,justice involved persons face homelessness, unemployment, substance, and mental health issues and a wide range of other issues that may be too challenging to overcome; and WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is requesting funds for expenses including, but not limited to, computers and case management software, video surveillance cameras, filing cabinets, cleaning supplies, PPE, food and other sundry supplies, drug testing equipment, bedding, kitchen supplies, and hygiene supplies; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on the Big Island; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for its Reentry and Recovery Housing program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
