COUNTY OF HAWAFI STATE OF HAWAF1 <br /> SOLUTION NO. 383 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE RULES OF PROCEDURE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE <br /> COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII BY AMENDING RULE NO. 5, COMMITTEES. <br /> WHEREAS,the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawai`i <br /> ("the Rules")govern the affairs of the Council of the County of Hawaii("Council"); and <br /> WHEREAS,the Rules were duly adopted as provided in Resolution No. 3-20 during the initial <br /> convening of the Council on December 7, 2020 and amended by Resolution No. 314-22, adopted on <br /> February 23, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Council seeks to improve the way it conducts is meetings by amending Rule <br /> No. 5, Item No. 6(d),relating to Responsibilities of the Committee Chairperson, as indicated in Ramseyer <br /> format below(material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken;material to be added is underscored): <br /> "(d) . In the absence of the Committee Chairperson or in the event the Committee Chairperson <br /> participates via videoconference,the Vice Chairperson shall perform the duties of the <br /> Chairperson. In the absence= [ef] disability, or virtual attendance of both the Chairperson <br /> and Vice Chairperson of a Standing Committee,the Committee shall elect from among <br /> its members a temporary Chairperson(Hawai`i County Charter, Section 3-6(a)). For the <br /> process of electing a temporary Chairperson,the Finance Committee Chairperson shall <br /> act as Chairperson Pro Tempore. (Rule No. 4.2.)" <br /> now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Rule No. 5, <br /> Item No. 6(d), of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawaii, <br /> relating to Responsibilities of the Committee Chairperson, is amended as indicated above. <br />
