Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Please accept this written testimony into your consideration of the referenced resolution
regarding street racing alternatives in East and West Hawaii.
1 am in favor of this resolution and the underlying intent.
1 am concerned, however, that one of the sites being considered for a motor sports park,
including a drag strip and off road track, is beirtl; proposed mauka of Kona Coast State
Park. I believe that further consideration of this site is not appropriate, as it could
seriously impact current and future residential uses, as shown on the enclosed to scale
proximity map. !n addition, this proposal would locate the track within 1 1/2 miles of the
proposed U. H. West Center.
I strongly believe the location of a motor sports park in West Hawaii is a woRhy venture
and I offer my help in finding a location that will not impact current and future residential
