Subject: Dangerous Dog Ordinance
Aloha,
When we bought our house 4.5 years ago,we knew we had a shared driveway, but failed to notice all the dogs the neighbors had. It
was up to 9 dogs at one point. None of them were house dogs. 6 were tied up all day, and the other 3 were left to roam, pooping on
our property and getting into our trash.One of them was tied up in the garage, but in 4 years never got used to us.She would bark
and run at us in full attack mode until she reached the end of her rope. She would scare our granddaughter to death. When we asked
if the dog would bite if she got loose,the answer was yes.There was another at the end of the driveway that would pop through the
bushes, barking and growling viciously whenever we tried to walk down the driveway.
For whatever reason,the number of dogs at the neighbors slowly declined.The garage dog died, but we don't know why.One
neighbor said it had gotten hit,and another claimed it had been poisoned.The police say the neighbor doesn't blame us for the
poisoning, but blames another neighbor.
Now more dogs appear to be living there, including one that barks and pulls on its restraint.When we asked if this new dog would
bite if loose,the answer was again yes.
What we can do to be able to enjoy living in our house and walking down our driveway without fear?Will this ordinance help?
