Aloha Chair and council members,
We are writing to support the funding of a $5,000 grant to WHVCDEA for the construction of a
Vietnam War Memorial at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. It is wonderful that the state of
Hawaii has set aside a beautiful piece of land along the coast of Kailua-Kona to commemorate
these honorable and courageous veterans, and now is the time to construct a Vietnam War
Memorial to honor those who served in this war. Your decision on funding this project will
make a great impact in recognizing the sacrifice and devotion of these soldiers to the country.
