Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting the donation of an Apollo Spinner from the Friends of
Pu`u Nui Park. This piece of playground equipment, valued at approximately $22,000,
will be installed at the Waikoloa Community Park.

This is a request to create a resolution to accept a donation of a large piece of playground equipment from
the Friends of Pu'u Nui Park to be installed at Waikoloa Community Park in` aikoloa.

Friends of Pu'u tui Park was established in 2021 to partner with Parks and Recreation to update and
maintain the children's playground area at W'aikolde Community Parte
Friends of Pu'u Nui Park has raised money and would like to donate an"Apollo Spinner"to be installed at the
park: The Apollo Spinner is a none shaped structure which allows children to sit on it and spin. A similar
piece of equipment can he found at the Anuenue Playground in Waimea.
The playground equipment is valued at$22,000.

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 391-22 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN APOLLO SPINNER TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
