COUNTY OF HAWAIII <br /> STATE OF HAWAIII, <br /> OF•NT,� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 393 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII TO SUPPORT ITS REENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose <br /> is to reintegrate former offenders into the community and the workplace; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii works in collaboration with more than 50 public and <br /> private entities to provide a variety of support services to former offenders, including housing, <br /> case management, and referrals to mental health and/or substance abuse treatment programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's community-based Reentry and Recovery Housing <br /> Program provides services for male or female offenders with reintegration into community life <br /> through employment, housing, education, and appropriate services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is requesting funds to assist with operational costs <br /> associated with its community-based Reentry and Recovery Housing Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br /> programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br /> intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawaii for its community-based <br /> Reentry and Recovery Housing Program, <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
