JayY�F kdy C"'OUTL*JqTY OF c *: :* STATE OF HAWAIII trr oF•up•1 RESOLUTION NO. 394 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE A WEED STEAMER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, PARKS MAINTENANCE DIVISION. WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division, maintains neighborhood parks,beach parks, playgrounds, ballfields, and other recreational facilities; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation,has identified the need for a weed steamer to control and maintain County beach parks and recreational facilities; and WHEREAS, steaming enables more rapid transfer of lethal heat into the cell structure of a weed, when compared to other thermal weed control techniques like flaming, deeper penetration into the crown of the plants is achieved in steam application and steam can also destroy the growth points of weeds; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase a weed steamer to help maintain the weeds at County beach parks and recreational facilities; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to purchase a weed steamer for the Parks Maintenance Division. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Ilawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $8,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $8,000 CREDITED TO: 010.500.5505.11 Department of Parks and Recreation $8,000 Parks Maint. Equip 480 Misc Equipment (Weed Steamer)
