SUBJECT: Request Ad Hoc Committee for Proposed Tax Related Legislation
I humbly request an appointment of an `ad hoc committee' of the Hawaii County Council for
the purpose of evaluating currently proposed tax related legislation that may include, but is not
limited to valuation increase caps, affordable housing funding, and tax credits, all of which are in
relation to the overall budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Such an ad hoc committee would be
beneficial for working in a cohesive and manageable process, while following the Sunshine
Law, and optimally providing for a fiscally responsible approach.
With time being of the essence, I also humbly request a breach of the April 14, 2022 deadline in
order to have the matter heard on the next agenda for the Finance Committee. Please feel free to
