i <br /> a <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> - I <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> ,tE OFHF`� <br /> SOLUTION NO. 398 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO HIGH <br /> SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR THE 2022 HILO HIGH GRAD NITS. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> assists Hilo High School and its students with programs and activities, including the Hilo High <br /> Grad Nite; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo High Grad Nite provides a safe, secure, and supervised celebration <br /> alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage drinking, illegal substance <br /> use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in drinking and driving, all of <br /> which pose a hazard to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the <br /> graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after <br /> graduation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Foundation is requesting funds to defray the cost of <br /> rental fees, supplies, and equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote the health, education, and well-being of the youth in our community with alcohol- and <br /> drug-free events such as graduation ceremonies; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo High School Foundation for the 2022 Hilo High <br /> Grad Nite. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
