COUNTY OF HAWAFI STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 403 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HALE MUA <br /> CULTURAL GROUP TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE <br /> KAMEHAMEHA DAY PARADE AND HO`OLAIULE`A IN LONA. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale Mua Cultural Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is <br /> dedicated to preserving and perpetuating native Hawaiian culture and collaborates with groups <br /> that stabilize, restore, and maintain historical sites and offer educational programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale Mua Cultural Group is partnering with King Kamehameha <br /> Celebration Parade Committee to assist with the celebration of the Kamehameha Day Parade and <br /> the Ho`olaule`a at the Hulihe`e Palace,that will be occurring on June 11, 2022, in historic Kailua <br /> Village; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Ho`olaule`a will feature cultural and educational events for the <br /> community including lei displays, palace tours, and demonstrations of other cultural practices; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale Mua Cultural Group is requesting funds to assist with expenses <br /> related to the Kamehameha Day parade and Ho`olaule`a including security and horseback <br /> marshals for traffic control and public safety; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that provide <br /> educational activities and community events in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, such as <br /> the King Kamehameha Day Parade; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hale Mua Cultural Group to assist with expenses <br /> relating to the Kamehameha Day parade and Ho`olaule`a in Kona. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
