CALL TO The regular meeting of the Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public
ORDER: Safety was called to order at 10:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Hilo, by
Mr. Holeka Goro Inaba, Chair.

CHR. INABA: I'll be closing public testimony at this time, and moving to our
only agenda item, Communication 176.13.
COMMUNI- The Chair directed the Committee to proceed to the next order of business,

Comm. 176.13: REQUESTS A PRESENTATION OF THE APRIL 2022 HAWEO AWARD
TO CHRISTOPHER ALMODOVA, FIRE MEDICAL SPECIALIST II —
HAWAI`I FIRE DEPARTMENT
From Council Member Holeka Goro Inaba, dated March 16, 2022.
Motion to Close File: Ms. Lee Loy moved to close file on Comm. 176.13.
Seconded by Mr. Kdneali`i-Kleinfelder.

CERTIFICATE OF (Note: At this time, the April 2022 HAWEO Award was presented
APPRECIATION: to Christopher Almodova, Fire Medical Specialist II, Hawaii Fire
Department, in recognition of going above and beyond the call of duty.
Deputy Fire Chief Eric Moller came forward and provided statements
regarding his exceptional activities in service to the community. Chair
Inaba provided a celebratory Hawaiian Chant.)

ADJOURN- There being no further business, at 10:18 a.m., Mr. Richards moved to adjourn
MENT: the meeting. Seconded by Ms. Kierkiewicz and carried by the following
voice vote:

and Chair Inaba — 8.
