i <br /> J-av(COUN <br /> i <br /> TIT OF HAWAIJATE OF HAWAIJ <br /> 1 <br /> grp•U•F•Nl•2f <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 410 22 <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br /> WORKS TO AWARD FUNDS TO THE PEOPLES ADVOCACY FOR <br /> TRAILS HAWAII <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2016 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 3 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii (PATH), which qualifies <br /> as a nonprofit organization as defined above, will expand the Bikeshare system <br /> within the County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works wishes to provide $726,000 to <br /> the Peoples Advocacy for Trails Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used towards the expansion of the Hawaii <br /> Island Bikeshare system in Hawaii County by increasing the number of stations in <br /> Kailua-Kona and Hilo; now, therefore <br />
