My name is Maki Morinoue from Holualoa. My apologies that I was not able to submit my
testimony on time as I juggle, family, work and community tasks. This arrives late in hopes it will
be added into the official record.
Today I arty in strong support of Bill 153 & Bill 152.
These Bills are necessary in supporting our local residents with affordable housing options and
plans. I would love to see it pass to be able to Vote towards charter amendments that impact
our residents positively.
I feel local residents are moving out in massive numbers. It is sad when we lose a community
member that brings forward valuable impact into our society. Many of us struggle to stay in our
homeland. Let alone have the mind, time and space available to testify. As a multiple
generation kama'aina resident, I am one of the community members at the edge of
displacement.
I am glad to see Mr. Holeka & Ms. Kimball collaborated on this and to know the Mayor's office is
in support of these bills.
Thank you all for shaping a better path forward. I hope this Bill gets passed with no obstacles or
changes unless it's to make it even better.
