hope the testimony makes it to you in time.
Kurtistowns internet services are sketchy.
Please support the reduction of our fuel tax from $.23 gallon to$.13 gallon.
Puna doesn't have the services needed to sustain our population.
This means needing to travel to Hilo.
From our location it's about 35-40 miles round trip.This doesn't include stops in town such as errands
and appointments.
If we want to take a bus it's 20 round trip to be driven to the bus stop and then picked up later.
I'm not suggesting that this be a permanent change. Let's just keep it in place until we have a viable plan
on how we are going to be using these fuel taxes to improve Puna roads.
This may include the development of connectivity locations within substandard subdivision.(see PCDP
adopted by ordinance in 2008, implementation chart)
As we create connectivity,folks will reduce their use of fossil fuel.This is aligned with our goals to
address climate changes/environmental consequences.
