Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 163, reports as follows:
Bill No. 163,transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 754 dated
April 14, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 21-38, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants—Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
account($94,300); and appropriates the same to the following Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act accounts; Rapid Response Administration/Planning 2021-2022 account($9,430) and
the Rapid Response Program 2021-2022 ($84,870). Funds would be used for rapid response and
layoff aversion activities.
There was no discussion on the measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 163, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
