Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 165, reports as follows:
Bill No. 165, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 757 dated
April 14, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 21-38, as amended,the operating budget for the County of
Hawaii for fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
This bill increases revenues in the Real Property Tax Penalties account ($720,000); and appropriates
the same to the Transfer to Disaster/Emergency Fund account($240,000) and the Transfer to Public
Access/Open Space Preservation Fund account ($480,000), to account for excess real property tax
penalty revenue that must be appropriated into these special funds pursuant to the Hawaii County
Charter.
There was no discussion on the measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 165, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
