RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE OFFICE OF THE AUDITOR, STATE OF HAWAI‘I
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for three (3) years with the Office of the Auditor, State of Hawai‘i; and
WHEREAS, the agreement will allow the County to request that the Office of the Auditor, State of Hawai‘i, to provide assistance to conduct an audit of the schedule of employer allocations
of the Employees’ Retirement System of the State of Hawai‘i (ERS) in order to meet the reporting requirements under Governmental Accounting Standards board (GASB) Statement No. 68;
and
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant
to those powers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
In accordance with section 46-7, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes and section 10-11 of the County Charter, the Mayor of the County of Hawai‘i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County,
a three (3) year, multi-year agreement, and related documents with the Office of the Auditor, State of Hawai‘i to allow the County to request assistance in conducting an audit as specified
above.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Finance Department.
