No. 408-22 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 9:01 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 408-22,reports as follows: Resolution No. 408-22,transmitted by the Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 786 dated April 29, 2022, authorizes the acceptance of all donations of securities or personal property to the County of Hawai`i within the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 that are not covered by the Department of Finance's capitalization procedures. This resolution provides County Council pre-authorization for the County to accept donations that are not covered by the Finance Department's capitalization procedures for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Ms. Sako if there is accompanying documentation outlining donations and donation amounts. Ms. Sako stated that this resolution is part of the preparation for the next fiscal year, and Finance will continue to come to the Council with quarterly reports of donations. Pursuant to Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate. In addition, Section 2-162(a), Hawai`i County Code, states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or - personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council.
