i <br /> uNtY'*Os 114 <br /> HAWAIICOUNTY OF •_ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +r�of•Npa+ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 428 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. <br /> SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE AN ICE MAKER FOR THE <br /> HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S SOUTH KOALA STATION AT MAUNA LANI. <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization dedicated to providing essential equipment and training to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to help save lives; and <br /> WHEREAS, since its inception in 1997, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has <br /> raised millions of dollars in donations to enhance the Hawaii Fire Department, which is vital to <br /> its rescue and fire-fighting operations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department has identified the need for an ice maker at its <br /> South Kohala Station at Mauna Lani, which will improve departmental readiness during <br /> emergency and hazard responses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase <br /> an ice maker for the Hawaii Fire Department's South Kohala Station at Mauna Lani; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department's mission is to provide exceptional, all- <br /> hazards emergency services to the residents and visitors of Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase an ice <br /> maker for the Hawaii Fire Department's South Kohala Station at Mauna Lani. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
