A RESOLUTION T NSF NGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NORTH KOHALA
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO PLUMBING
INSTALLATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL WATER
HYDRANT IN NORTH KOHALA.
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community projects that
benefit North Kohala through education,training, and bridges to funding, and has currently
supported over 75 community projects; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center has recently collaborated
with the Hoea Pipeline Water Association, Upolu Ag Water Mitigation, and the County of
Hawaii Department of Research and Development on providing agricultural water access at a
county hydrant in North Kohala; and
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funds to cover
expenses relating to the plumbing installation and management of the agricultural water hydrant
in North Kohala; and
WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's
mission to support community programs that balance economic, social, and community priorities
in Hawaii County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity,
service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center
for expenses relating to the plumbing installation and management of the agricultural water
hydrant in North Kohala.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
