Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement
The Department of Environmental Management seeks to enter into a multi-year lease
agreement to utilize office space at Hanama Place in Kailua-Kana.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a four-year, eleven-month
multi-year lease agreement with Puna Plantation Hawaii, Limited, for approximately
3,163 square feet of office space.
We respectfully request that this resolution be waived from Finance Committee and
placed on the June 15, 2022 Council agenda in order to expedite this transaction. If there
are any questions, please feel free to contact Hamana Ventura of the Finance
Department's Property Management Division at 961-8009.

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 436-22 : A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN
ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the County of Hawaii Finance Department to enter into a
Lease Agreement for four (4) years and eleven (11) months at a75-5706 Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona,
Hawaii.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawaii Finance Department on behalf of Department of Environmental Management,
proposes to Leasse Unit 101 at Hanama Place, consisiting of 3,163 square feet of office space, owned by
Puna Plantation Hawaii, Limited. The proposed Lease will be for a period of four (4) years and eleven
months from July 1, 2022 through May 31, 2027,
