Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement

Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year,
for a multi-year agreement with SSRI. This agreement will allow continued support of
the County Geographic Information System (GIS).
The Department of Information Technology requests that this resolution be waived from
Finance Committee and be placed on the June 15, 2022 Council agenda in order to
expedite this process. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Scott
Uehara of the Department of Information Technology at 932-2975.

A. REQUEST:
Authorizing the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more that one fiscal year for a multi-year
agreement for ESRI Software for the Department of Infornation Technology
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
ESRI Software is currently utilized as the primary software for the Geographical Information System (GIS)for
the County of Hawaii.
The ESRI agreement provides unlimited GIS server components and configurations, unlimited desktop
software &virtually unlimited ArcGIS online capabilities.
The proposed 3-year contract term is set at a fixed annual rate of$165,000.00 for year 1, 2, & 3. The
proposed fixed rate for this agreement has been budgeted by the Department of Information Technology.

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 438-22 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE

SOFTWARE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
