RESOLUTION II THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
F ONE (1) CHEVY CARGOT C VARIOUS BOMB SQUAD
EQUIPMENT TO THE COUNTY OF 1`I POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii utilized federal funding to purchase and donate
one (1) 2019 Chevy cargo truck and various equipment to the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, this truck and equipment, with an estimated value of$429,287.37,
will be utilized by the Hawaii Interisland Bomb Squad; and
WHEREAS, a detailed list of equipment has been outlined in "Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution
approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Police Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the
Mayor.
