RESOLUTION NO. 437 22
RESOLUTION I IACCEPTANCE OF THE
NATION OF FLOWFLEX COVID-19 ANTIGEN HOME TEST KITS
FROM THE STATE OF HAWAI`1 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO THE
HAWAI'I COUNTY CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Health is donating 8,000 Flowflex
COVID-19 antigen home test kits to the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, these test kits, with an estimated value of$79,920, will be utilized to
provide testing options to low-income households, rural communities, and County of
Hawaii staff; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution
approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the State of Hawaii Department of Health, do Jason Dela Cruz, 75
Aupuni St., Ste 105, Hilo, HI 96720.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Agency, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the
Mayor.
