Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate John C. Cross to the At Large, South Hilo Judicial District for the
Windward Planning Commission.
Mr. Cross is a lifelong Hawaii resident and a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Mdnoa
with a Master of Science and Horticulture degree. He offers extensive knowledge of East
Hawaii lands from Kohala to Ka`u, including land tenure, easements of various nature, roads
and trails,parcels of record, and other unique features of these lands.
Mr. Cross has volunteered his service as a Scout Master, a past Na Ala Hele Advisory Council
member, a Steering Committee member of the Ka`u CDP, and Hawaii Macadamia Nut
Association. Due to the resignation of former Commissioner, Dean An, if confirmed, Mr. Cross
will serve the remaining term to end December 31, 2023.
