SUBJECT: Additional Recommendations for Waiwai Nonprofit Grant Organizations for FY
2022-2023
In accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, section 2-139(a)(1)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
$2,500,000.00 is appropriated to the County of Hawaii Waiwai Nonprofit Grant Program. On
June 2, 2022, an additional $875,000 was added to the proposed Operating Budget bringing the
total amount to $3,375,000.
Attached for your review and consideration are the additional recommendations for the FY 2022-
2023 appropriations for grants to nonprofit organizations [Exhibit A]. These recommendations
were made after the review of all eligible applications provided by the Department of Finance
and the award recommendations contained in Communication No. 633.6.
In addition, please also find attached Exhibit B for a listing of all eligible applications related to
homelessness.
