Subject: Bill 127 CIP Budget Amendments - Hina-Lani Street &Waikoloa Road Rehabilitation

Aloha Council Members&Chairwoman David,
I strongly support CIP budget amendments (Communication 663.6 and 636.8)to Bill 127 for the Waikoloa and]Hina-Lani Street
rehabilitation projects.The pavement of these roads has deteriorated to deplorable conditions.,which necessitates the aging
roadway pavement be rehabilitated.
These CIP budgetary amendments allocate the necessary county matching funds to qualify for Federal—aid funding for both of these
much-needed roadway infrastructure improvements.
Both Hina-Lani Street and Waikoloa Road are critical mauka to makai connector roads.These pavement rehabilitation projects will
improve both of these roads and provide an economic boost for the Big Island's construction industry.
