Subject: Bill 152
I support Bill 152 and hope the Council supports this bill. On the one hand the BI has some of the most expensive
properties and on the other minimum wages or low paying jobs. Recently we have seen houses/condos selling for
record prices and more locals have to leave the Islands. For generations, local families have been forced to move to
the west coast or Las Vagas to buy a home. We need new strategies to make homes more affordable.
Bill 152 clarifies uses of the Housing Revolving Fund to allow vacant land purchases, existing structure rehabilitation,
subsidies, grants and loans, and adds restrictions in perpetuity for resale to lower and moderate income households.
This bill nudges us in the right direction but we need a lot more programs that make housing more afflabl .I
support this project and hope it others are implemented. ti mcb
