Subject: Bill 153
I support Bill 153 and hope the Council supports this bill. On the one hand the BI has some of the most expensive
properties and on the other minimum wages or low paying jobs. Recently we have seen houses/condos selling for
record prices and more locals have to leave the Islands. For generations, local families have been forced to move to
the west coast or Las Vagas to buy a home. We need new strategies to make houses more affordable.
Bill 153 amends the charter to ensure that 1% of RP tax revenue is deposited into the housing revolving fund for
specific uses as defined in Bill 152.
