Subject: Real Property Tax Rates for all Classes of Real Property
Dear Hawai'i Island Council Members,
In respect of your busy schedules, this is short, simple, and sweet:
1. We do not need a reduction in property tax rates. Period.
2. We DO need an increase in property tax rates for nonresident property owners. You already know the reasons
why.
3. If a reduction in property tax rates has to be implemented(although god knows why, maybe the real estate lobby
does), it should be staggered, so that those who have the least get the biggest break, and those who have the most get
little to no break at all.
That's it. Please do the right thing for all the residents of Hawai'i County.
