Subject: strong support of Bill 167 sunscreen
Aloha,
I am in strongsupport of Bill 167. As a regular recreational swimmer in Kealakekua Baythree mornings a week, I

witness swimmers entering the water directly after applying sunscreen. The chemical compounds contained in non-
mineral sunscreen inhibit coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs. This ordinance aims to preserve the
health, safety, and welfare of humans and the environment by allowing only mineral sunscreens to be provided, sold,
offered for sale, or distributed in the County. Healthy coral reefs protect our island's coastal infrastructure, beaches,
and community. I submit my testimony in strong support of Bill 167.
