Subject: Prohibition of Non-mineral Sunscreen
To whom it may concern,
Our coral reefs are of paramount importance to protect our island's coastal infrastructure, beaches, and
community. It has been proven the chemical compounds contained in non-mineral sunscreen inhibit
coral growth and degrade the integrity of our reefs. With the passage of this ordinance we will preserve
the health, safety, and welfare of humans and the environment,by allowing only mineral sunscreens to
be provided, sold, offered for sale, or distributed in the County.
